Aditi R. Kahn, LSW
570-908-2749 ext 310
Dunmore, PA

Aditi is a trauma specialist and currently pursuing her doctorate in psychology from National University with a focus in trauma and disaster relief. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCPT). Aditi is a Licensed Social Worker with 17 years of experience in social service within New York and Pennsylvania. She graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BA in Sociology, received her MSW from Fordham University, and  recently completed MBSR training at Jefferson Mindfulness Institute.

Aditi is a committed social worker, psychotherapist, and advocate for human rights and social justice. She employs integrative treatment that is based on the "person-in-environment" theory. Her emphasis on positive psychology, strength-based therapy, and person-centered approach enables her to accurately identify the needs of the patients while putting an emphasis on inner fortitude and resourcefulness to promote wellness.

Plans for treatment are individualized and include effective coping strategies for developing long-term resilience and enhance posttraumatic growth. She respects patients' autonomy, encourages self-determination, and seeks to explore opportunities for constructive transformation and healthy coping mechanisms in a dignified and respectful manner. She contends that fostering mutuality, active engagement in therapy, and promoting a "survivor" rather than "victim" paradigm will better prepare individuals for healing via empowerment.
